The Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) has approved the acquisition of Enia Carpet NL Holding BV by the DESSO Group. Last month, the DESSO Group announced plans to acquire the profitable activities (which generated a turnover of € 50 million in 2009) of Enia Carpet NL Holding BV.
Enia Carpet NL Holding BV develops, manufactures and sells consumer carpet mainly in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria under the popular Parade and Bonaparte brand names. Enia also sells high-end contract carpet for offices across Europe.
Strong market position
DESSO Group CEO Stef Kranendijk: 'Even though we expected the NMa to approve the acquisition, we are still very pleased with this official confirmation. Our acquisition of Enia will help us strengthen our position in the European market for carpeting and will make us a strong player in both the professional and consumer market, with a leading market position in the Netherlands and a number two position in Germany.'
