Tom Francken, Chief Financial Officer of Desso since 2007, has won the CFO Special Achievement Award 2012 during the 11th CFO Day. This prestigious award is granted annually on behalf of the CFO community that, together with CFO Day partners and an expert jury, draw up a long-list from which the winners are chosen.
Leader in sustainability
The jury is of the opinion that Francken has provided a special contribution to the development of the Desso strategy and stated: "Tom Francken is a leader in sustainability, creates an environment for innovation and is closely involved in Desso's transformation from artificial grass and carpet manufacturer to supplier of sustainable solutions in the area of carpeting and artificial grass."
Joint effort
The other two winners of the CFO Special Achievement Award 2012 were Mediq CFO Hans Janssen and Ton van Veen from Jumbo Supermarkets.
"This is an extremely honourable prize of which I am of course proud. And yet it is also a prize for the entire Desso team. This is truly the result of a joint effort. As company you can only operate in a structurally sustainable way if everyone works towards the same goal. That's the case with us."
