Desso, a Tarkett company, has announced that two of its carpet designs have won the coveted Red Dot Award: Product Design. The winning products are Fuse and Fuse Create, which are both part of Desso's Transitions collection.
Fuse is a carpet tile incorporating colour transitions from colour A to B, while Fuse Create complements the Fuse range with soft colour gradients from one shade of grey to various brighter colours. The Transitions range, part of the Carpetecture® Collection, embraces movement and creative expression, a reflection of our beautiful and ever-changing world.
Create original flooring designs
Architects and interior designers can create original flooring designs to reflect their personal taste with these products. Tiles from the original Fields range which was successfully introduced in 2014, can be combined with Fuse and Fuse Create elements to transition between two plain-coloured areas in an office, helping to create a separation between different zones or an easy navigation at the workplace.
The products can also be installed randomly, creating bold and powerful flooring designs. The two products are made from a tactile yet hardwearing looped material, giving the floor a comfortable yet professional-looking bouclé effect.

Red Dot Award: Product Design
With 41 experts from around the world, chosen according to strict rules, the Red Dot Award: Product Design guarantees a high level of competence in the judging process. The jury comprises freelance designers, design professors and specialised journalists - but never designers employed by potential contestants.

Competing with about 5.200 products and innovations
For the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016, Desso was competing with participants from 57 countries with about 5,200 products and innovations. Desso representatives will accept their trophy at a gala ceremony on 4 July 2016 in Essen, Germany.
