The Executive Board is responsible for Desso's policy in the fields of amongst others brand and markets, finance, acquisitions and divestments.
Alexander Collot d'Escury
Chief Executive Officer
Alexander Collot d'Escury is CEO of Desso, a global carpets, carpet tiles and sports pitches company. He was appointed CEO in October 2012 after five years serving as Desso's Chief Commercial Officer.
He began his career working for Sara Lee with a focus on the Dutch coffee brand Douwe Egberts before moving to Nestlé, where he gained 13 years of valuable international management experience.
As Regional Director of Nestlé Purina Petcare in Central Europe, Alexander was posted to Budapest (2006-07). Immediately prior to that, he worked in Switzerland as part of Nestlé's European management team responsible for Beverages, Confectionery and a number of Country Markets (2005-2006). He also worked as the General Manager of Nestlé Food Services in the Netherlands (2002-2005) and held various marketing and sales leadership roles in the Netherlands, Spain and the Czech Republic.
Alexander is also a board member of both the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC) and the PAN Foundation, a modern day art fair based in Amsterdam. In addition, Alexander serves on the Advisory Board of the Hogere Hotelschool, the hotel management school based in Maastricht.
Alexander graduated from the University of Rotterdam (Master of Law) and IMD, Lausanne (PED). He is married with three children.
Tom Francken
Chief Financial Officer
Tom first worked for Desso as an external advisor from 2001-2007, during which time he made major improvements to the company's financial management system. He was the driving force behind Desso's launch of its Financial Shared Services Centre, its implementation of Sox 404 and a variety of other tax and financial projects. During the same period, he worked as a partner in a financial consultancy firm where he took on a number of assignments for different companies. Previously, Tom worked as the Finance Director at the Mijnmaatschappij Group, a limestone pit and concrete plant based in Curaçao, Financial Manager at the Remco Ruimtebouw Group, and General Manager, Finance & Control at the Van Gils Group, a textile production company based in Essen, Belgium. Between 1985 and 1992 Tom worked as Financial Controller for Akzo Nobel pharmaceutical companies in Belgium, Mexico and Spain.
